I am very excited to be finally graduating from the Ohio State University Masters in Art Education Program, complete with new skills and knowledge that will make me a better teacher. I have learned a lot in the last several years and will be continuing that lifelong journey further each day. Learning does not end with a degree; there is no point of culmination. As the world changes, so must our understanding of it.

The training on UDL I received offered invaluable benefits with my aim to cultivate inclusive and effective learning environments for myself as a teacher and my students as learners. By integrating UDL principles into my practice, I am better able to address the diverse needs of students and promote equitable access to learning opportunities. Through reflective methods, I have learned to critically evaluate my instructional approaches, ensuring that they are flexible, inclusive, and responsive to the varied learning styles, abilities, and backgrounds of my students. This program equipped me with the knowledge and tools to design engaging and accessible art education experiences that accommodate individual differences, foster creativity, and empower all learners to succeed.

The instruction on new ways of meaning-making, such as Deleuzian nonsense strategies and rhizomatic thinking principles, had immense value to my teaching practice by nurturing creative thinking skills essential for addressing future challenges. Through engagement with these pedagogical approaches, I learned to foster a dynamic learning environment that encourages students to explore unconventional perspectives, embrace uncertainty, and navigate complexity with confidence. By embracing Deleuzian notions of multiplicity and rhizomatic connectivity, I am more able can cultivate a curriculum that breaks with linear thinking patterns to empower my students to approach problems with their own brand of adaptability, resilience, and imaginative flair. These tools to design transformative learning experiences not only foster artistic expression but also cultivate critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity skills vital for success in an ever-evolving world.
